Pre-transformatie

The WUR is an institute where Education and Research come together. Its mission is : "To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life".

This requires a lot from ICT and therefore a lot of insight and overview of needs. To improve this, the WUR has chosen to work under architecture. 

WUR has opted for Working under Architecture because it will lead to better decision-making through the quick availability of up-to-date and complete information about the set-up and organisation of WUR and insight into the difference to be bridged between the current and the desired situation. In addition, the acceleration of renewal and innovation through insight into all chains, the context and (im)possibilities.

Transformatie capability

André was asked to guide the road to Working under Architecture. The roles of Domain and Solution architects had been filled. Most architects were junior in their roles, the organisation still unfamiliar with architecture and the architecture processes not yet fully established.

Transformatie support

In the period 2021-2022, together with WUR, management and architects, a roadmap was drawn up with the pillars of Organisational Development, Team Building & Collaboration, Governance and Maturity Growth.

To this end, André supervised the following actions:

  • Architecture Maturity Measurement
  • Training sessions on Solution Architecture, Archimate, Strategy and Vision
  • Workshops on Business Model Canvas and Governance
  • Personal coaching of Solution Architects to grow in their role

The effect of this approach is that the maturity of the architecture has grown significantly, the organisation now stands and the architects perform their role better.
